survivors together socialising from home

Due to the current situation with COVID-19, we’ve had to stop our group meetings at the Memorial buildings, as well as most of our one to one meetings.

For now, we’ve created a Facebook page (currently for our members only) and we’re also looking for more resources that everyone can share. You are not alone.

For our members, our Facebook page is ‘Survivors Together East London’. It is a place for members to chat to each other about every day things. It is not a therapy site, nor is it a place for religious or political items. It’s a place to connect with others, to share creative posts that are positive and light if you are feeling lonely or scared while there is no group to go to. We’re currently running a daily photo challenge, just for fun, which is keeping the page interesting.

We’ve had our first Zoom Thai Chi session. That worked really well so we will definitely be doing that again.

And we are planning a virtual tea party. It’ll be fun to meet on screen for afternoon tea, but you have to provide your own tea and cake!

We are also still providing 1-to-1 support via phone and zoom.

Thanks to Helen and Gema who are looking after our Facebook and WhatsApp sites.

Keep in touch, enjoy each other and be well and safe.
