Our friends at Into The Light are running an online workshop in April for Survivors of Sexual Abuse and their supporters.
The workshop is called:
“Paused By The Pandemic: A Workshop To Reflect On Overcoming Shame, Memories, Gaining Stability, Relationships And Sexuality”
Date: Saturday 24th April 2021
Time: 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm
Venue: This workshop will be held online for health and safety reasons.
We will be focusing on how being abused may impact certain aspects of how Survivors relate to themselves and others.
We will also be considering the impact of the pandemic on our emotional health.
And we will share information and ideas on how we can build healthier and closer relationships with ourselves and with others.
The workshop is open to all genders and is held in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with time for sharing and discussion plus extensive handouts.
The workshop is also open to mental health professionals who are supporting people who have experienced abuse and to partners or friends of people who have experienced abuse. We have received some excellent feedback from professionals about how the workshops have given them valuable tools in their work with Survivors.
We give CPD Certificates on request.
The workshop aims include:
- Break out of isolation and meet others in a safe space
- Regain power over shame that does not belong to you
- Considering processing traumatic memories
- Re-Thinking Sexuality as a possibility for yourself
- Reflecting on confidence in relationships
Fees are: People working: £40 or £30 (Early Bird before March)
People on a low income: £20.00
All our services are facilitated by Professional Counsellors and all BACP Ethics apply.
